Default Corvette rotors, powder coated calipers, etc...

Well I FINALLY got the time to put on my own brake kit (to upgrade the fronts to Corvette rotors) and I snapped some (crappy) pics...

I'll post daylight pics with the wheels on tomorrow. They fill up the 17's NICELY

The awesome red powdercoated calipers were done by Silver Ghost (sponsor on here) and I HIGHLY recommend getting your stuff done through him...

If anyone wants a set of stock size 1998-2002 front drilled and slotted rotors (look just like the above pics but stock size) I have a set with under 500 miles on them for $100 shipped, $80 local pick up (both prices FIRM).

I only took off to be able to install my own conversion brackets and rotors, which if you want those I sell for $350 shipped (gets you all brackets, bolts and both front drilled and slotted Corvette rotors, one helluva deal).

Anyways, check back and I'll have more pics soon...

looks good Mark. Couple suggestions..

You should powder coat your rotors black, then get them turned so the slots will be filled in. Also you should paint the hubs black.

This year when spring gets here i will have Sean powder coat my breaks, at the same time i am going to do the above wheat i suggested to you...

Yeah, Delco C5 rotors will rust.
I had to remove mine and paint the centers.

These don`t look like Delco`s though.

I guess the camera doesn't do the powder coat justice. It looks like it's missing a coat of Dupli color layer.

LOL Whatever you say buddy..

Here's my caliper gallery on my site
http://thepowderpro.com/gallery/?level=album&id=11

Take a look around and let me know what you think about my "duplicolor".

Here are 6LE's calipers in proper light before I shipped them back. The red is so deep you can see your face in it..

Oh well, next pad change

The pics definitely don't do the red justice. They look nothing like spray paint, looks like a factory red car...

Well, car didn't see daylight today so I went down and grabbed some crappy garage pics...

These are the brackets and hardware I sell to mount the rotors and caliper...

Those rotors look sweet and I like the red calipers...but I'm not feeling the the smurf blue pads, maybe it'll look better if the blue was darker like your paint.

I tried the same combo long ago, but I felt that the red caliper and blue pads looked too much like a SUPERMAN/SPIDERMAN theme.

Yeah, I'm going to hit the pads, rotor hubs and dimples/slots with some satin black (then have the rotors turned) next chance I get...

[SilverGhost] I'm not doubting your work. I'm sure they look great in person. The pictures don't do your work justice at all.

What are the brackets made of and do you these require that you modify the spindle at all?

1/2" steel and NO, you do NOT have to modify LS1 spindles at all (not sure on LT1s). I had the spacers machined to clearance the spindle so the customer doesn't have to grind on their car (like all the others out there) .

I don't get the point of dimpled. Is is just for looks? You loose the gripping surface (like drilled) BUT don't get the benefit of less weight (like drilled).

^^Just read the added strength part. So I guess it is for the look of drilled but stronger?
