Mothers Billet and mini-powerball for the wheels.
I use Victoria's SuperWash for washing.
No tire cleaner.
Wax is Victoria's Concours Red.
Polishes....I use several. Menzerna and Prima lines.

clay bar
soft tooth brush
wheel brush
random orbital buffer
big ol sponge
chamy(sp?)
armor all soap(but not the 1 step wash and wax crap)
plastic & trim conditioner
autoglass wax/polish? it says polish but im pretty sure its a wax, especially since your supposed to 'bake' it in between coats. had an old timer turn me on to it and it beats any mothers & meguire's products hands down.

My detail kit...

Then:
Mr. Clean Auto-Dry
Mothers Clay Bar
Meguiars ScratchX
Meguiars ColorX
Meguiars NXT
Meguiars Hot Wheels Wheel Cleaner
Meguiars Tire Foam
Meguiars Leather Cleaner & Conditioner (combo)
RainX
Terry-covered sponge
Microfiber clothes
Terry-covered applicators
All hand applied

Now:
Phone Number

I still do the basic wash and wheel/tire clean, but I have some one else do the full detail now. Its not that I'm lazy (well that is part of it), I would get really sick after doing all that in one afternoon by hand without a break.

Plus you can't beat the job of a Professional detailer.

Take the ICE wax and toss it in the nearest trashcan N-O-W. Anything is better than ICE.

I would never take my car to a detailer, all of the kids at the one by mine are dirt *****. And even anyways I love washing my car in the driveway I don't think I could ever blow my money on that.

I ask plenty of questions and gauge their responses. Most either suck or don't represent themselves well. I ask about the products they use and how the apply them. I usually get specific.

Sometimes the responses aren't so great.
I remember one conversation going something like this...

ME: What products do you use?
THEM: Simonize
ME: Do you buff the car and with what?
THEM: We Simonize
ME: How do you apply the product?
THEM: We Simonize
ME: Do you Shampoo
THEM: Ya we shampoo
ME: Do you use a Claybar?
THEM: No we Simonize
ME: OK.... thanks anyways... hangup

And that was a "professional" place that charged $150 minimum for their basic service. I never went there and tell others not to bother either.

There is a member on this board that has detailed my car before. He did great work. I'll probably go back to him again in the spring. I'm not sure if he wants his name mentioned though.
