Default Alum Boxes

Here are some bad pics of what I've been working on, alum battery box, brake res cover, power steering res cover and air box. Still have the lid to make and (4) pulleys to make. I'm polishing everything including the water pump and the idler pulley bracket

I'll be honest, so far the air box has not been to big of a pain.....I still need to make the lid, this will be more of a challenge. I need to make sure that the height is just right. also I'm running a S/D tune so I have no MAF. I'm going to try to have the tube from the air box run right up to the T/B and use just one coupler.

I wonder what someone would pay for a polished air box & lid????

A whole lot . You have a talent, and you could put it to good use. If you make something like that for a C6 Corvette, you'll sell an assload. A lot of those guys like the show car stuff. The problem with these cars is that not a whole lot are in show condition.

I'm going to start on the lid this weekend, this will be a big challange. I'll post a pic as soon as I get something completed.

The power steering cover is still in the fitting stage, I have to make a new top with the hole in the right place ....ooops.

My shop is looking at making all of these items if we can get the price down.

I'm afraid the air box will probably be in the $800-$1000 range, there is ALOT of welding?

Hey, it costs what it costs. No matter how muc hyou charge, some will see a bargain and others will see it as overpriced. As long as you make them to order, and don't stock any, then you can charge whatever you see fit. You'll likely sell a few for sure even at that price to the killer showcar guys.

Free is always welcome, as long as there's not a $1000 shipping & handling charge

I'd be interested in a lid as long as it was a factory replacement like any other A/M lid. Keep us posted on this stuff, I can't wait to see the lid! I'm subscribed.
