Default Painted my LSX intake today...

So I wanted to do something different (well, maybe I don't go out enough, so different to me ... lol) so I decided to paint the intake white to match the car. Then I took out the tiny little paint brush and model paint kit I had left over, from a small project that I didn't complete in the past, and got to work ... I'm still trying to touch up the runs/etc. so I wouldn't say it's complete ... what ya'll think?

Starting off...

Laying the Silver down first...

Then getting pissed off 'cos my shaky hands messed up and got red all over...

All Cleaned up and ready to go...

Looks good. In the 4th pic, how come no one paints the base? I have never seen a fast so i dunno if that is the bottom shell and you painted it seperatly?

Looks like you did not sand it? I know when i take my LS6 intake off, i am not going to sand it. I will use adhesion promoter, primer, color then clear

Yeah, it's two halves (well there's a third inside but externally two halves) so I just took the top off.

I didn't want to sand it so it would've taken too long and then I'd not be satisfied with my work and then it's gonna be a whole other issue ... lol ... I used that new Fusion plastic paint thingy, hoping it wont flake 'cos its supposed to get into the pores or some BS like that ... fingers crossed.

you should sand it so it can have that smooth finish.......it takes time to do it but its well worth it at the end......

INSTALLED!!! Well, just placed in there with the repainted fuel rail/etc. Can't bolt it down just yet 'cos I need to get the lower profile valley cover bolts and stainless bolts to replace these rusty bolts I got with the intake.

that's why i don't sand them when a customer wants theirs smoothed prior to powder coating it. I use a mini die grinder and light grit abrasive rolls, much faster
