Default ****Quick Paintjob****

I just did a quick sand, clean and paint on my valve covers today. I think it turned out pretty well.

What are you going to cut them with? i would cut the tabs pretty close to the bottom and then grind the rest smooth slowly so you dont dig in and have to do body work. Then just fill them with JV weld. Sand them with 80grt where you can to get rid of the mold marks, then hit the hard areas with scotch brite and primer surfacer them with like three coats. Sand smooth with 400grt and again hit the hard areas with red scotch brite, then just base, and clear.

I cut mine with a metabo saw.

yeah im not sure on my approach yet. slowly grind them flush with a grinder. follow up with some filler and staighten it all out. im also cutting off the oil fill neck, and where the pass side pvc valve goes. then going to tig on 2 AN bungs so i can run them down to a catch can. so they will be completely isomtric and really smooth! yes- i have relocated coils

lol ya i have a tig welder, the hardest part will be the filler neck, and the pcv valve since when cut them off i will have to do alil aluminum fabrication to fill in the holes and make then isometric and smooth.

Sweet man i am saving up for a Miller 200dx. Also for aluminum welding, i always seem to need it.

Post up pics when you are done, they will look very aftermarket.
