i did mine in about 45 min. it took so long because of fading light. i left it just as the bare carpet. no sense in taking weight out if you are going to put it back in. the car felt lighter and faster. did have some traction issues but solved that with an LS1 hatch. definitely worth doing

So an 1/4 tank of gas yields the same results? lol.

What is a ls1 hatch? Trans Am Hatch?

I personally haven't heard of a kit yet, but I'm sure someone will chime in if they have.

I thought 6LE made a rear seat delete. I could be wrong, it may just be more simple to just make your own.. and it would probably fit better too

i took mine out, they weigh nothing so if you are doing it for weight reduction you'll get more weight from the rear seat belts. you won't notice a difference in your car, you won't go blazing fast and lose all traction. it takes maybe 20-30 min to remove it all if you are taking your time. i took my rear floor mats and put them over the holes in the carpet where the seat bolts to it.

oh and if someone wants a ride they fit better now LOL

sweetbmxrider what was the weight differnce? Stock seats don't weigh alot to begin with so did you add weight or were you able to shed a couple. Looks nice btw

If you're cheap, but still want to have it look half-decent, take out the belts, and the fold-down part. Leave the bottoms in. I'd be surprised if they weigh 2 pounds combined.

i think they shipped at 20lbs, i did not weigh them though. they are heavy, but lighter than the seats with belts. thanks. they aren't the best solution, but they are better than nothing IMO.

yes i just took the seats out and didnt put anything back in it. the seats themselves dont weigh a lot, maybe 2 pounds. the backrest/seatbelts do however. and yes i had a low rise hatch and swapped it for a high rise. fixed the traction issue

yea i wasn't looking for weight reduction, i just don't use the back seat(bottoms out too much with people back there) and like the look of a delete that is properly carpeted and fit right. i knew 6le had a kit but wondered if anyone knew of a kit, i'm prolly just going to build my own

i was going to do a kit, but i liked the extra storage space. you can make a simple one with some plywood/compressed board and some carpet from a fabric store

let me know what you find. I'm looking for one that smoothes the backseat. I need a place for my hockey bag with the t-tops in the trunk, and folding down the seat ***** up the leather pretty bad (damn cupholders)

IMO the best looking rear seat delete was someone on here replaced their carpet with a whole new peice like what speed inc. offers. and didn't trim it to put the seats back in. Since the holes aren't cut out for the rear seats it looks like it came from the factory like that. Not the cheapest way but the cleanest for sure.
