Made me an old school style hurst auto shifter.
I got laid off last week sooo, I started making some stuff for the car I've been wanting to do. Heres a toggle switch I added also (polished alum):
Shifter:
The only prob so far is the shift boot bunches up at the top and you can barely see the top of the gear indicator in park. I need to clearance the consoul for it.

I had to stright wire my flex-a-lite fan, new temp senso, good relays, and wired right w/ good connections; Factory wiring wouldn't kick on the fan.
Yeah kinda knew it was coming, but still sucks.

Thanks, yeah it looks alittle ackward; too tall IMO. Maybe I can cut about 3" of material off the bottom. I only paid like $5.99 for it. I have like $20 in the the whole thing.
Thinking about making a chin spoiler/splitter for it next, my brother has a sheet of alum. he said I could have. Trying to plan how to do it before I start cutting it out. I would like to make it somewhat functional and adjustable without cutting the bumber.

Fyi, Hurst makes a chrome plated T handle. They come in universal metric or SAE threads with several adapters for different stick threads. I found the polished one I had got dirty from my hand very easily. The chrome one is much easier to clean and keep clean.

Sorry, spent the whole day yesterday hunting down fittings. To answer your questions, yes you push down on it to shift just like stock; I don't have to hold it all the time - put it in gear and go; The chrome stick won't simple bolt up to the setup.
I took a metel pipe slightly bigger ID than the OD of the stock stick and welded it to the bent part ( it was heated and bent on a 45 drilled and tapped the end for one of the adapters that came with the handle). I had to cut about 2" off the stock stick leave the white plastic piece about 1" taller than the metal exterior. Their is a cotter pin going through the pipe I used and through the white plastic center section of the stock stick. This locks the two together so when you push down on the handle it moves the plastic piece down also allowing the shifter to move. I opened the hole for the indicator up to the size of the pipe I used so the gear indictor still works. The boot is just sandwiched between the consoul and the gear indicator housing(pull your center consoul and you'll see what I'm talking about here- 4 bolts hold the indicator housing to the bottom of the consoul). Getting the hole for the cotter pin lined up with that tiny pastic piece and having it realitive to the bottom of the bent piece was the hardest part. I used a dab of lock-tite to keep the handle in the spot I found comfortable to me. I hope my description isn't to confusing.

Look at a pic of the C5R and the C6.R race cars it's the black piece under the front bumper. About 1/2 thick and sticks out about 2" from the bumper and goes to flush with the sides (widest part) of the bumper. It mimics the outline of the bottom of the bumper It's used for downforce in road racing.
