Default DIY Anodized Parts!!!!

Well heres the background info that makes this interesting, my dad broke a part on a tractor, ironically my hood struts off the TA was the same part...then my cousin died in a car wreck and im going through my good dress pants.. find 60 bucks.. so i buy new ones at autozone.. then i find out i have 20 bucks on my card... so im feeling pretty decent... anyway I have a black and red theme going on in my car so I was looking for some flashier red paint for the hood struts.. Found Krylon XMetals. It suposed to be used over painted metals.. I took my hood struts down to bare metal... and then painted over it with this stuff...

.

At first I painted over the black hoodstruts... just made a red clearcoat appearance...totally gay.. I stripped them down to bare metal and got a decent bright finish and BAM. It looks like the cap does. Nice bright red color..

Im going to be using this product a lot, it says use over painted metal surfaces... so im thinking a nice white clean painted surface will yield better results....

haha i have just recently bought this too cuz it was on sale for 4 bucks a can. i have painted my MAF throttle body valve covers and dipstick handle blue. looks pretty good but yeah i found that on dark colors it does not show through and since some parts on bare metal are darker than others. i used krylon brilliant silver metallic as the base. it gives it a blue metallic look.
