Bird
My daughters NBM has a bird poop splatter right in the middle of the hood. I've tried everything(bug and tar remover, dawn, wax, etc.) to get the stain off. Nothing removes it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Damn!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> What are you guys feeding the birds over there that it makes cleaning up their crap almost impossible?
I know that the longer you leave the crap on your car the harder it will be to remove it later so I always wash any bird crap off as soon as I see it. Did your daughter leave it on the car for it to bake on or did she try to remove it quickly? I ask because on my Firebird whenever I didnt wash off any bird crap right away it would leave a marking "residue" that would stay on my car for a while but would eventually disapear.
Is the stain basically a filmy residue or is the bird crap that hard/crusty that it wont come off?

Re: Bird
If you've cleaned it that thoroughly, the bird crap is gone. What you see now is the damage it caused to your paint. Bird poo is full of really strong acids that can eat clearcoat. The only way to really get rid of it now is with the attention of a body shop.
Bird doo "stains" are permanent. Especially when allowed to bake in the sun for a while.

Thanks for the replys. Was afraid it waa like ya said, damage to the clearcoat... told her not to leave poop to bake in the sun, but it happens sometimes. Guess she will just have to live with it.

Re: Bird
I had a tube of GS27 scratch remover, thought why not? Gave it a try. Rubbed it on, removed it and put some wax on the spot and the spot was gone! Worked real good. Can't even tell where the spot was. Stuff was good for something.
