So subtle, you didn't even notice the tailights.

This is something i've been wanting to do also. So is it just a clean swap between the two sets of lights or do you have to do anything special?

I had to notch a very small piece on one of the socket seats on each tail light. You'll see it once you get ready to push the sockets in. They all fit nice and snug. There is another mod you can do with the wiring that allows the whole tail light to light up at night, but I chose not to do it. You can do what I did at first and ditch the two 5 watt bulbs on the corners of the tailights. Without those they light up similar to the 97+ tail lights. I ended up putting them back in. I might take them back out though. So many choices

I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

I'm gonna do something similar on my car soon.

I'm going to take a stock rear pannel out of a junkyard and fill in the lettering, paint it black to match the top of my car, and do the early tail light conversion with smoked lenses (not cheap blackouts). Hopefully, this will look good with my black 11" ZR1 wheels, black rear markers, and clear front markers.

This is what they look like lit up. With the wiring mod, the whole tail light will light up.

Z98
I also got a panel from the junkyard and painted it . That way you can keep your stock painted panel . The tailights also came from the junkyard .
