Default Custom Guage Cluster

Anybody ever thought of taking their cluster out, and gettin like a custom cluster(Like Autometer)?

Pics Anyone?

The problem would be running the guages since most of them are supplied info from the PCM. I suppose anything is possible though. running the oil pressure and water temp would be pretty easy.. tach shouldnt be an issue.. hmmm

This would be nice for Reckless's retro car

ive thouht of this before to. it would be tight to have like a sheet of staniless steel in place of the cluster with autometers cutout and install in. if i knew how to wire or mess with the pcm i would do it.

Check out www.raptorperformance.com

They have links to the pcm pin specs for all the ls1's. I used this to hook up my shift light, and it was a piece of cake. I can imagine you could use this to wire up your own gauges just as easily.

I have a shift light from raptor performance. Man i love it. I like how you can dile in where you want it to be set at.

Maybe I will try to make one 1 day, I guess i could trace the cluster in aluminum, or some kind of material. Id like to know some more info about wiring them up though.

Some of the data is fed on a serial cord. That may be more difficult to splice, etc.

Nordskog has a universal digital gauge kit that I'm currently adapting for use in my Camaro. I'll post pix when complete.

jeeze..................this is from 11/26/2003!!!!!!!!!!! i'll have some pics, but it wont be for a few months yet. talk to APE. they have a very nice setup using AutoMeter Cobalt gauges.
