Lighting Help: Camaro Clear Corner Bulb Options (Orange, Clear, Etc)
I went 6000k HIDs in the low beams and fogs, so they look great. I swapped out the stock amber corner lenses for clear lenses with black housings, and the clear bulbs look so dull and ugly compared to the lows and fogs now. Orange bulbs look horrible too. I need either a clear bulb that lights up orange, or some type of purer white bulb to replace the DRL/blinker bulb and sidemarker bulb with.
What bulbs are you guys with clear corners running?
A 3057/3157 bulb that is clear but lights up orange? What about the actual 194 side marker bulb? Is there a clear bulb for this that also lights up orange?
Anyone using diamond white/super white/hyperwhite bulbs, and if so where did you get them (and are they available in 3057/3157 and 194 types)?
Anyone using LED bulbs (either white or orange)? How is the light ouput/distribution within the housing?
I need the best looking option. I'm not worried about getting pulled over for not having orange lights up front, and will worry about it if it becomes a problem. I want it to look good when the car is off (no bright orange bulbs in there), but I also want it to look good when the car is on (whether that be a more pure white bulb option or orange option). Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, I still have the amber lenses, so it won't be a direct comparison, but I've switched to LEDs for both bulbs up front (I went with amber), and the light distribution is actually really good. You'll have to also go with a fully electronic flasher for everything to work correctly (the electro-mechanical EL-12 didn't work under all conditions), but it can be done.
You definitely have some color options with LEDs that makes them a little more attractive, but they are more expensive. If you went with white LEDs, they would very closely match your 6000k HIDs since you have the clear housing.

White/amber switchbacks? Never heard of a switchback, what is it? Do they light up white but blink amber or something? Where would you find something like that?

http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm heres the link for the switchbacks. about 3/4 of the way down the page. youll have to ask someone how many LED's you can run otherwise you run into issues with them being too tall to fit in the housing. i believe on my TA i got away with the 30 LED ones.
if you do the switchbacks youll need this electronic flasher module to get them to work: http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm EL-12 is the style you need.
then for the 194's you'll need these in whatever color you choose : http://autolumination.com/194.htm get the 5 LED ones
let me know if i can help anymore man
