Default Help with Dad's Ventura

OK...I know it's not an F-body, but I'm out of options.

Trying to help my Dad replace/repair the cargo deck for his '67 Pontiac Ventura. It's in pretty bad shape, and I've gotten nowhere everywhere else on the web. Maybe someone here can help me out or point me in the right direction.

can it come off? it would look really nice if you covered the whole thing in a nice piece of vinyl.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, just wrap it in black leather to match the seats & be done with it. Unless that material is so old it'll turn to dust if you try to remove it.

Well, that's where I am right now. Not sure how easily it will come off, or if it does, it does so in a hundred crumbly pieces. Not sure if anyone has experience with something like this.

Looks like it should just pop off. Any tabs or clips in the corners?

k this is what i would do. first take some measurements of the whole piece. then just start going to town on it and get it out. if it breaks up you have all the dimensions and can make another one out of a thin piece of plywood or plastic and cover it.

those seats look they are in really nice condition, it's a shame the back ruins the look

Have you sourced Year One for a replacement? That seems like it would be a common restoration piece.

I would hafta say look into fix-n the water leak first! then remove the back seat & that piece should just pull strait back toward the front of car.

Throw some **** carpet on that bish...

Lol in all seriousness i'd do what trans-dad said and figure out where its leaking water, then see how easy it comes out, and wrap it in vinyl. Or look into year one if its shot.
