Default What lowering springs to get?

I was pretty set on getting some BMR springs and some KYB AGX shocks. The shocks im pretty set on cause I don't care much about the "ride comfort" anything is better then 100k mile worn springs/shocks now so I am more interested in the look. The BMR springs seem to be right, but what does everyone else run and how low is the AVERAGE drop, not the drop they say but the average people get, since most people either don't get or get more then advertised on the drop some springs offer. Thanks

Talk to Sam Strano..he will spec you a set-up that lowers the car and brings you great strides in handling and control.

I agree with Nacho, Strano is the man to talk to! His **** is the best! I am currently running Konis with H&R Sport Springs that lowered to about 1 1/2" and my ride is awesome...but want to upgrade to Stranos!

I might wanna mention I don't want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on springs and shocks. And like I said before I don't care much about how it "feels" as much as it looks. I'm on a budget and strano is good but those springs with shocks are some of the most expensive out there lol

For looks, cut your springs and go with KYBs. Cheap.

I understand where you are coming from....to a point. Me personally, I don't understand why you are going for more of the "looks" as opposed to how they improve your ride and handling? Yes, Koni/Strano combo is pricey, but ask anyone whom has driven a car with that combo, and they will say that nothing compares to the handling you get!

I take it that you don't do much performance driving with your T/A?
Like I said, I don't quite get it...its like buying a Ferrari Enzo, taking all of their performance parts off, and putting some cheap **** off of a Fiero...because it might look cool!

Like said above, if you want the cheap route...cut your stockers to desired height and be done with it. Just my .02 though!

I have the same setup you are considering. I like the stance and ride quality is very close to stock.

IMO...talking to the Strano guy is always the same....Koni and Strano springs. I swear that more the 95% of the times when people ask the guy the same formula comes up. Im not bashing in any way the guy so please.....this is my opinion, nothing more.

Yes BMR and KYB adjustable shocks...I really love the stance and ride. It really feels very close to stock but tighter.

Save the money and wait to get the right setup. To properly lower you the car you need springs, shocks and AT LEAST an adj. pan-hard to recenter the rear end, unless you don't mind one rear tire wearing a lot more than the other. Ideally you need:

Springs
Shocks
Adj. Panhard
LCA Relocation Brackets
Alignment

If you don't have the budget for it yet wait.

I've been on Eibach Sportline, Hotchkis, and Eibach Pro Kit.. I'm gonna swap back over to the Hotchkis next week.. My car currently sits on the ProKit (bought it that way) I liked the Hotchkis better. Sits just a TAD higher, and not so damn rough, but still great springs for corners and such

Ok.. First off for those saying about priceyness. I do care about the ride, but im not driving in a fricken rally car like a sti on the track often. The only "performance driving" I do is at a drag strip. The above poster with pictures shows what im exactly looking for, kyb shocks with bmr springs was what I was originally aiming for. I'm not cutting springs, I need new springs/shocks anyways since theyre over 100k mile springs on it now, and from what I thought koni/strano packs run from 800-1000 where as kyb/bmr setup would run me around $500.. I was just asking for which combos you guys like, besides strano/konis since thats out of my price range. Hotchicks I hear people like as well but no one seems to talk much about them.

I'm not going to hijack this man's thread. But a spring thread in the appearance section could only mean 1 thing, right? That he's interested in appearance above suspension. Personally I have Konis w/ Hotchkis springs. I love the way my car looks & rides, but yeah Konis are pricey.
