Default Will HID's fit on 98 camaro Fog light?

i bought some HIDs for my 98 camaro about a month ago but i could not get them to fit. i was wondering if it is a problem with the HIDs i used or if this is a problem with the fog light housing?
anybody that successfully done it please pm me the kit you used. thanks

yes i tried a search, no dice

for the people ready to complain about HIDs being dangerous/dumb....

Well your fogs are too low and not halogen housings so people can complain all they like. Also, are you sure you have the right HID bulb? If you do, the only problem would be that the fog housing is deep enough, which I doubt.

well i was trying to install them i got the right number 894. it felt like the wire parallel to the bulb was getting stuck somewhere....

just need some people to confirm that its possible....or if i need to do any modifications to the housing in order to fit them.

I know it is possible, I've seen it done. Haven't done it myself but am considering it, given that the lame 27W stock fogs are totally useless! That, and I have a bulb burned out.

You have the right bulb, problem is the seal on the HID bulb, it'll take some strenght to make it fit, at least thats how it went on my trans am lenses, it took me some time but got them in.

You can swap the seals then, I remember my fogs being tight on the T/A (diff. bulb), but I swapped the rubber seals from the halogens to the HID's and it was much better.

880 kit. 99% positive thats what i had to run. very similar to the 894 but instead of the plug sideways, it comes straight out the back.

Where did you order HID's for the fogs? I'm going to order HID's for my SS probably tomorrow. What bulbs for the headlights? 9006 right?

I tryed to install my 880 kit today. It wouldnt go it. Its like the foglight housing is not deep enough for the long *** HID. It is about 1/4 inch or so longer than the stock bulb.

Hm so maybe only certain brands of bulbs fit? Like some are longer than others? Wouldn't think they should be.. but maybe?

Really? What was causing it to not go in? Was the base hitting something or is it like H1 where it has to go in just so?

When I was up under neath the car I was at a bad angle and it just would not go in. Felt like i was going to break it so I just took the foglight out(2 10mm bolts) and it went right in. On the other side i tryed a different angle and didnt have to take it out.

OK cool... so now the question is, do I go with 3500k (yellower, like most fogs usually are) 5000k (to match my headlights) or get different fog lights altogether that are still halogen but actually work?

hmmm.
