I'd take it to a body shop or get some high temp paint and primer from autozone.

^ That's awesome. I never thought about having the intake air brushed. Good thing I haven't got a LS6 intake yet.

regular automotive paint will work just fine. I had an older member on here airbrush custom true fire on one of my intakes and it held up perfect. later on I had a different ls6 intake simply painted gloss black with clear from the local body shop and it also held up no problems.... these intakes do not get very hot. Hope this helps! Here are some pictures of my 2 I had done.... Also FWIW, I had the body shop do the valvecovers in the same gloss black at the same time as the intake and they held up perfect as well.... even under high performance twin turbo conditions.....

and the old true fire set-up...

I have a black car and Im stuck, I have no idea what color to go with. Either I do for the black+clear to match the car's paint or go silver with silver powder coated valve covers.

What do you guys think?

Here is my intake. Sprayed with Krylon Fusion and clear. Lettering was all done with a model car brush.

I'm thinking of going with light Pewter Metallic on a LS6 to contrast to the black engine bay like Steve Yoast's Z28. It looks super clean and different.

Agreed. I was gonna do black but now that I come to think of it our motors are so.....meh when you pop the hood. Any silver, or gunmetal intake will make things POP a lil bit

Keep them coming boys

Man a lot of these are looking great! I've been wanting to do this for over a year now. I can't wait to get some downtime with my car
