Default T/A headlight alignment (when closed/down)

ok, i just had to rotate my headlight motor driveshaft 180 degrees since the gear teeth wore out on one side. that fixed the problem, but now i notice that my headlamp door has too much gap at the front when closed. i can run my fingers underneath the headlamp door on that side, and can't get any fingers under it on the pass. side. i tried adjusting the manual **** and it closed the gap, but once i used the headlight switch to pop them up and down, it went right back to the HUGE gap that was there before. i'm guessing that i need to pop the headlamp door arm off the driveshaft and put it on in a slightly different position. is this correct???
