Default White or Ebony Leather

Ok so I've always liked white leather even on dark colored cars. So I saw a 99 SS being parted out today on Craigslist and there is a complete set of white leather seats for sale. The guy said there is on rip on the driver's seat but its fixable and then he is supposed to be sending me pics tomorrow. I have no idea how clean it is but if they are clean seats what do you guys think, should I keep the ebony leather or get white? I'd have to sell my ebony seats to pay for the white ones btw.

IDK man, white leather looks good but I think the only way I'd do it was if they had houndstooth inserts. Solid white just seems like it'd be a nightmare on maintenance.

Yeah if its in good condition to start out with I think I could keep it looking good because I am cleaning the car all the time in the summer but it is my DD from late March to late October though...

Btw what do you guys think a fair price would be for a whole set of seats with power driver's seat? For like a reference of what a fair price would be to buy and if I were to sell mine.

I will buy your 2 fronts or just your driver seat. PM me on something you want for them.

My driver side seat needs replacing. Some type of trade? Money? Got pics of seats?

If I was in your boat, I would keep my stock trans am leather seats and just have them recovered in white leather instead of spending the same money on used camaro seats.

I think the white looks really good. I would never own it myself, and the idea of it sounds horrible, but it looks really good. I think trying to keep them clean would be a total PITA. If your current interior is in good condition, I would just leave it.

I have no idea what the seats would be worth.

I'll let you know if I do sell them but I would probably be looking to sell the whole set.

Trans Am seats? I've got a 02 Camaro SS with the stock ebony seats not a TA. Btw my driver's seat does have like a stress tear along the side but you can't tell unless you're looking for it, it would be an easy fix and if I don't set the white seats I'll get it fixed this summer.

I love white leather, it just has to go on the right color car. Black is acceptable.

I would not do white in a black car. I just don't think it would look good. I would however just get them recovered ebony with a white insert.

I'd say stick with the ebony. Why buy seats you have to have fixed when you have perfectly good seats?

White will look like crap over time unless you are on top of cleaning it. I wouldn't switch from ebony.

I have white stock seats and looks really good and get tons of compliments on my TA vert but I only use it for shows etc. Its very hard to keep clean and if I drove it everyday it would be a nightmare. Black is great for daily driving.

It might look pretty hawt, but I think your ebony seats with a white insert would look better!
Plus it'll probably be cheaper in the long run.

If I were to get new covers for the seats I would probably do white with a red insert in the center or black with a red insert.

Something like the ones in the back of this picture expect red and white instead of red and orange.

I think black leather with black/white houndstooth looks sweet. Especially in a black car. With a white shift **** and maybe a shift boot with white stitching, maybe even a black wheel with white stitching....

Yeah I know a guy over on another forum that had a black LT1 Z with white with the houndstooth and it looked good. I'd if I've seen the combo you're talking about though. I've got an auto though so the shift **** and shift boot wouldn't be happening. I could get a white shift **** but idk.

You need to stick w/ the Black/Red theme. Like I've told you already, white will be too hard to keep clean, and you don't have a spec of white on your car (alright, besides your hood ) But you need to eventually get red inserts when you HAVE money...

For now, keep what you have.
