use heat, some goo-gone or wd-40, and fishing line. all the residue will come off, but you need to make sure the car wasn't painted or the paint isn't faded because you will have a line even after it's cleaned up.

wait till the summer when it's 1000 degrees outside

Yup, once you get a piece started with the fishing line you should be able to just peel it off.

Good deal. And my paint should be fine. What would you recommend to get the residue off without f-ing up my paint?

i just heated them up a bit with a heat gun. then used the fishing line trick and some 3M adhesive remover. i heard aircraft adhesive remover works well.

there is a goo-gone auto spray, safe on car finishes. this will get all the residue off, use a mircofiber towel and rub. then finish with a soapy wash and clay/polish the area.

I did this the first day I got the car. Just sprayed wd40 inside the sidemoldings, waited 5 minutes, and simply lifted the edges with a plastic scraper. Once I got a hold of it I pulled it all off and barely had to clean up any residue w/ goo gone cause most of the adhesive came out w/ it.

then you have nothing to worry about... the glue and adhesive remover like goo-gone (which works awesome) doesnt harm the paint or dw 40 but when your done i would still give your car a nice wash just to clean it all off... your fine dont even worry about it just enjoy no side moldings!!!

I used mines with a pocket knife to cutoff the mouldings threw the glue, & the scrape the glue with my fingers, this was b4 I had ls1 account but it was so much easier doing it the right way, took me 20mins

Its plenty hot enough to do it today. It shouldn't take more then 20 or 30 minutes to do both sides and be back inside watching TV.

I didn't use a heat gun myself. I just pulled it off, and used Goo Gone to get the residue off. Just put Goo Gone on it, wait a couple of minutes, and use a towel to work all the residue off. Then rinse it all off with a hose.

I'm doing it on Thursday or friday. I take a couple pictures during for anyone that hasn't done it even though it sounds really simple

Honestly, thats probably why there isn't a write up for it. There really is nothing to it. It's like a 10 minutes job if there isn't a lot of residue, and maybe 30 minutes worst case.
