Default Which Hose kit should I use?

I got one of the Spectre hose cover kits with Anodized red end connectors for christmas. I think the Red/Silver would be a good color scheme, but the Silver/Silver kits might look good too. What do you guys think? Or should I go with a different hose kit?

Keep in mind that bright annodized colors (like red, blue) will fade over time when subjected to high heat (radiator hoses, etc).. this is because the heat opens the pores in the metal and leaches out the die.

It takes a while to happen but just so your aware

Red is a perfect accent color for a silver car.. but if you go with the red hose ends then have a plan to tie it all in together (the red theme)..

Oh, and post pics!!!!

Where do you pick up those hose kits? I would like to do the kind that SteveSS had on his old Pewter SS. They looked really nice!

Pretty sure Steve had REAL braided hose on his SS (if its the same SS I'm thinking of...i.e. the guy with the 1st reply in this thread). Every braided cover kit I've ever seen looked like crap...but to each his own. Try it and show some pic's. I'll admit I'm curious.

Of course, the other option is spending a little more cash and getting some fittings/attapters welded and using real braided line everywhere...that would be sweet. Especially with Earl's new black hose and ano-tuff fittings.

Actually I think that would be spending a lot more. You can get the kits at pepboys or even at Circuit City.

Someone needs to make a kit for the F-Body with real braided hoses.... I wouldn't mind spending the extra cash to have those. If someone knows someone that makes them please PM them to me. Thanks

Anyone 'should' be able to weld AN male fittings to whatever. A radiator shop maybe? I've heard that recomended for welding AN's to fuel rails. Anyway, put a fitting on your Rad, put one on the TB neck, put another on the rad, one on the WP, etc., etc., etc.

It can be done. And yes it will be expensive. But, like I said, Earl's new black line/fittings would make it a lot cheaper (compared to bright stainless).

I would go with the red accents on your hose cover kit.

Yeah I think the red will be friggen sweet, but I would hate for it to be pink after a year.

The only places I think that would happen is on the exhaust part of the car from the headers to the exhaust tips.

I have an stock steel transmission line flared with a flare tube and nut on the steel line and a -5 to -6 adapter and a -6AN fitting to hose.

I have ran this setup for almost 2 years now and see, no discoloration:
