Default Did some buffing on my "new" 2003 vert...

Buffed up the red car... paint is in pretty good shape for a 7 year old car that has never been buffed, just heavy swirls and a few fine scratches. Washed w/ dish soap then clayed using Meguiar's Quik Detailer as clay lube.

After some reading on various forums I decided to try Meguiar's new Ultimate Compound... the stuff is quite amazing... cuts nearly as good as M105, has a very long working time, and wipes off simply w/o any dusting etc. I used a borrowed PC buffer (Thanks Travis) w/ an orange pad on a speed just below 5. Made 3-4 passes over each section.

Some pics... this is clay and compound only... no polish, no sealant...

The UC left the paint so nice I almost just applied Rejex and called it a day, but decided to proceed with my original plan and polished it with Menzerna FPII w/ a white pad then Rejexed. I'm glad I did... the polish made it even better... it was only a slight increase, but worth it.

My diamond-cut reverse panel was delivered by the FedEx guy while I was finishing up the buffing.... installed it along w/ the flush mount tail light spacers that I took off my Z06.

All done... this is after driving it around all day yesterday with the H4H road tour a couple of weeks ago.

Since I couldn't play waxer for long here's a shot from yesterday's auto-x... burshing the cobwebs off for running VIR next weekend in the Panoz. The car got lots of compliments for being so "pretty"... I think the lack of swirls and Rejex really helped my times

So you PC'ed your vert with the top down, interesting, you didn't get a lot of dust in the cockpit? I usually do mine with the top up and an old sheet on the top since my top is black, it was tan like yours but I changed it to black.

Little bit of dust on the door panels, but nothing major... used a swiffer duster sheet when I was all done. The Meguiars UC leaves almost no dust... might have been more of an issue w/ different products.

Thanks... all I did was put up a chair molding, paint all the trim red and did the checkerboard w/ self-stick tiles using some 3M spray adhesive for extra stick.

Currently working on my new workbench/area... used to have it all along the back wall, but picked up some awesome cabinets and counter from work for free and just had to put it to good use.

Floor jack is an old Harbor Freight low-profile aluminum racing jack I work in the evil petroleum/energy industry.

LOL.

Paint looks great. I can see why he said that tho, but its pretty easy to see it was overcast and its not a super high end camera. Paint looks great.
