Default Anyone running the DG Motorsports Carbon Fiber hood?

I must look at that hood 2 or 3 times a day, but have not heard any testimonial on the fit or finish of it. If anyone has it installed or has pics of one installed on an LS1 4th gen, please post your pics! Thanks, Dave

Why is it that if you want something that looks good like a CF hood that its "rice" since when do we not get stuff because its "rice" isnt that kinda weak??? not that i would go out and do the gay **** they do but, a carbon fiber hood isnt really "rice" IMO

Personally, I hate the way they look, unless on a black car! If you are in to performance, though, they are quite helpful in the weight loss department.

I know someone who is makeing carbon fiber cowl hoods for the camaro. He should have it finished soon, I will get the pics up when it is done. BTW, the hood with the hardware weighs under 10lbs! Thats a pretty big weight savings for the serious racers and also looks sick!

figures a ricer who puts SS badges on his z28 would think a CF hood is "sick."

Lots of people with F-bodies like CF hoods.... They're not for everybody,
But Cryp- do you feed the need to blurt in and insult everyone who likes them?

How bout posting some pics of YOUR good ol Fbod, so we know how we all should make our cars? Heritage has done something different with his, and it looks pretty damn good IMO. I asked for pics, not opinions on this thread, so instead of flaming......keep it to yourself unless you have pics.

I think it would look great. I would like to see pics too if anyone has some. The onlt bad thing about the hood is the $ but then again how many Camaros do you see around with CF hoods? Another thing is I thought you could paint Carbon Fiber. I know that in a issure of Turbo and High performance I think it was they have a blue WRX and put a CF hood on it and painted the same color as the car. I think they said the cf shows up though still in the light or whatever. I think that it would look good painted the color of the car or not. 1 of my fav. cars is a Integra Type R with the Japanese front end, carbon fiber hood and gun metal rims...And about heritage ls-1's car. I happen to like it and if he wants to put that on his car thats his business. cryptopsy: if you wanted to go take a **** on your car then you know I don't think many of us would complain so keep your lame *** comments to yourself.

I saw the one that JSears did on his silver TA, it looked pretty good. I think they only look good on black or NBM cars though. $.02

Well the DGM hood looks just like the John Moss ZL1 hood (the scoop is wide and tall) except it isn't functional. I have a black SS and I figured the contrast wouldn't be too bad, plus......has anyone felt how heavy our stock SS hoods are? They are friggin heavy!

I think too much chrome is rice, big wings, plenty of lights, funky paint, etc.....that's rice. A c/f hood for our cars is not rice to me.

I currently have my black 99 SS painted just like the ZL1. I have a silver stripe painted on the hood, panel behind the t-tops, rear spoiler, and hatch-lid. I have it painted 2.5 years ago, and now Dale Earnharts Chevy copied my car with the release of the Intimidator SS O' well. I am thinking about buying the DG ZL1 carbon hood and hve the same Moss stripe painted, have the rest painted to match the wider stripe. But I will leave the rest of the hood carbon. I think it would look cool. I talked to DG last year about their fiberglass hood and they said it could be made functional with their airbox for a couple hundred more! Has anyone seen how they make it functional? Also it the DG hood's scoop open or closed? If its open or opened up where do we get a grill for it?

LOL J/K....seriously it's a good idea ya got there. The hood is closed from the pics I've seen. If I got one, I'd cut out the scoop, have my buddy clean up the fiber and then insert some Z06 style mesh in there......Ooohh sounds cool huh?

carbon fiber hoods are sofa king gay. You will be domestic rice if you get one.

fiberglass and steel are rice too! (since the ricers use it as well)

OH SH*t! the Mclaren f1 is the most riced out **** in the world!!!(since it's largely composed of it)

So anyways- the Camaro is in dire need of weight loss at the front, plus you can always plaint it if you want.

by the way you know the ZL1? it has a carbon fiber hood, look at the slightly diff color it has. I guess chevy as a company is ricing too? (not that you would know what ricing means anyways)

I would really like to see some pics of one on a F-body. I wouldn't perosnally do it to my car, but only cuz I have an LE. Just wouldn't work. However, I think a CF hood would look good on a yellow, black, NBM, or silver car.

No pics yet?

Since when does a person become a "ricer" for putting all American SS badges on a CHEVROLET Z28? Do the camaros now get parts from Japan? That's news...then we are all ricers.
A poser or imposter, yes. A ricer, no.

Maybe you and others on this board should look into what really dictates being a ricer.

If I am using your definition of a ricer then you would be one too because you are a moron...and so are ricers...and since ricers now drive LS1s, you fit the profile.

Wow...I shut him the hell down.

Call VFN Fiberglass and ask if they have any carbon fiber plans for Camaro hoods.
