SLP Grill Emblem Removal?
I have the chance to buy a used SLP Grill the only problem is that it has an SS emblem. Is there a way to remove the SS emblem and replace it with a chevy emblem?

I did it last summer. The emblem is just on with glue just use some fishing line and some adhesive remover. As for the emblem I went with a generic chevy bowtie I got off ebay.
I believe 3m made the decal. If you are interested ill look in the basement. I still have the package. I've also heard the Tail Panel emblem from the 93-02 Z28 will work nicely as well.

The SS emblems on an SLP "SS" grille are the same as the SS badges on the sides and rear of the cars ......and for that matter, the bowties too.
Just peel them off, then remove any left over adhesive residue. Be careful. I doubt you'd pull off any paint, but if the grille is like mine, it's been repainted and the SS stickers will take off chunks of paint.

Even if you replace the emblem, it still looks a little goofy IMO. The oval shape with the Chevy bowtie logo just doesn't flow like the true bowtie grilles.
You could always buy the SS grille and see if you can find someone with a bowtie grille that wants to trade. I am sure there are a few guys with SS cars that have bow-tie grilles that might be interested in trading. If not, just switch the logo like the others suggested and it'll still look pretty good.
