Question about Pass. Airbag
My vehicle is a 95 Trans am. The dash has had some abuse and ive been looking for a solution. Found a dash on ebay through Cleveland Pick-a-part and it is out of an 02, I called my dealer to see if the passenger side airbag will plug and play and he is telling me "No".
I need opinions

Can I simply unbolt the airbag from my current dash and swap it into place in the new dash? I guess what im trying to figure out is if that cover is removable or is it part of the dash until the bag is deployed.

no its not plug and play. i think there might be threads on this (cause there are for the drivers side), but theres a cutoff year (probably 96), i think if you had the harness/bracket and the new bag itd be okay, but it would take some know how

We were discussing airbags the other day from a different perspective. there is an airbag sensor right in front of the radiator support that was apparently removed after 1995 so i'd guess 96 uses a different airbag system than 95. that module can be seen in front of the word "ram" on my airbox in the pic below.

Appreciate the input, but I guess what I need to know is whether or not I can bolt my airbag from the original dashboard (passenger side) in place of the newer style airbag on the new dash.
