Suggest a Wax for me!
Hey guys, trying to decide on what wax I want to use on my car. It's a 94 Z28 with Medium Quasar Blue paint. So I have clay bared, used Meguiars M105, then what used to be Tropicare TC8 swirl remover, then their TC3 Sealant. Now I want to put a wax on top for the final finish. Anyways, I have no idea what to use. I am looking for good protection, but a nice deep, rich shine. I have heard the NTX wax is good, but other people say go with a 100% carnauba wax. I was going to try the Showroom FX carnauba for dark cars, but shipping is $10 just for the one wax, no thanks... So let me hear what you guys have to offer, car is a weekend cruiser and garage kept. Needs to be liquid for the PC and I don't want to spend much more then $20 for a 12oz... And if I can get it local, like say the NTX or gold class at Autozone, well then that's a bonus.
Thanks,
Bill
Thanks,
Bill

Where are you located? If you want to try the Tropi-Care/ShowroomFX Wax let me know. I have it in stock and it won't cost $10 to ship unless your out of the country. It gives a nice clear and deep finish to the paint. I use it after one or two coats of the polish. Sent you a PM also.

99zee got the PM, I will deff. take you up on that offer, thanks! I love the Showroom FX stuff, so I will continue to use it. LILWS6, just for future reference, do you find the ICE wears away quickly? I have heard it doesn't stay shiny long.
Thanks,
Bill
Here's a pic with just sealant, no wax yet, not bad for a 16 year old paint job...

Ohh and to ***** up my own thread a little more, the new Meguiars M105 is amazing! I had ordered it for the small scratches all over my car, well my dog decided to jump on our family car last weekend and scratch the crap out of it. It's a 99 with Chili pepper red paint. Here are two shots, before and after. You can still see the scratch if you are like 2" away, but I was amazed. Process for this as well as my car is: wash, clay bar, M105 orange pad, Tropicare/Showroom FX TC-8 swirl remover with orange pad, then TC-3 with blue pad.

I have tried alot of waxes and I am sold on turtle wax ice. It goes on and off easy and it makes waxing dark cars a snap! I have found that it lasts as long as nxt. But I usually waxonce per month so it never gets a chance to wear off

^ Yeah I used a Porter Cable 7424 Random Orbital with 6.5" Orange pad and medium pressure speed just a click over 4, then the Tropicare/Showroom FX TC-8 swirl cutter on a different orange pad speed of 4 to apply, 5 to remove, then their TC-3 sealant on a blue pad 4 to put on and 5 to take off, taken off with the PC and micro fiber over a blue pad.
Thanks,
Bill
I am going with the Showroom Fx Crystal Black Carnauba wax for darker cars. I will give a review of it. I would also like to mention that 99zee took care of me on the shipping, $5 is much more reasonable. Thanks!
