are you referring to side mirrors, or the interior mirror.

if interior, sakrafice said he will be soon in this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...d-mirrors.html

the rearview on the windshield. stock one is bulky/ heavy. I was looking to see if someone had replaced it with a lighter one or just something different in general.

I have one from a 08 silverado with compass, temp and auto dim. No map lights though.
Alot of guy replace them with "gentex" mirrors. You can buy them off their website but they get pretty pricey. There was a thread somewhere about them

If you get a chance, I'd actually really like to see a pic. It sounds pretty nice. How was the wiring?

wiring was simple. I tapped the ACS switch for power and the hardest part is running the wires for the temp gauge through the firewall. I found a guy on ebay that made custom harnesses for the mirror b/c I did not have the harness from the silverado. It was only 4 wires 2 for the temp, power and ground.

I'll see if I can get some pics up soon for you.

Holy thread bump. Damn it still never posted pics! I forget the guys info on ebay. Just search Gentex wiring kit.

I can state enough how much I love the temp and auto dim!! Compass is also a nice touch!

No. I have the computers, harnesses and stuff to make it work though. I'm just using the compass and the temperature.

What all was necessary to make the Thermometer and compass functional?
Anyone know of any non-Onstar model mirrors that have these features?

Mine doesn't. There are OnStar mirrors available with the map lights, BUT they don't have the temperature and compass readout.
