Default need opinions on my polished caliper set up

alright i have all my calipers polished finally! now i cant decide what color to paint the brackets. I did black in picture but im not sure how i feel about black, its almost to plain next to the polished calipers, and i cant seem to find a blue that matches my stripes. I was thinking maybe red..... i know red is used way to much but it might look alirght since it will just be the brackets. and also i cant decide if i should leave the trans am sticker on the calipers.... let me know what you guys think.

Leave as is, or find a blue that's close.

You can go to an automotive paint store and they can match the stripe and put it in a spray can for you.

Leave it. Looks great. How long did it take you to polish those things? I have been planning on doing it but realized it would take at least two to three days for me to do a good job after starting on one of them. Any tips?

it took probley a total of 5 hours per front caliper and 3 hours per back caliper. go get a black and deck "mouse" its like $30 at home depot it saves a ton of time. start with some 120 grit on the mouse and get everything nice and smooth then get a sanding block and work down to 200-400-600-800-1000-1500-2000, keeping the sanding block as flat as possilbe otherwise you will get a wavy finish . the finer the final sanding is the easier it is to polish them up

Sounds about right. It's a very time consuming project from the test run I did. Spent about 1 hour with the same process as you but starting with 400. The 400 wasn't enough to get all of the casting marks out and I didn't have anything between 150 and 400 so I was SOL until I could get something more aggressive. Other people have recommended the Mouse to me for stuff too, so I'll probably order one tonight. I have a handful of normal sanders with a square sanding area but not one with a triangle shaped sanding area.

Thanks for the help! Hope to see you & your car again!

P.S. Oh yeah, I'm going to try and polish the brackets on my car rather than painting them. Moar Bling!!`1!~

Looks nice as-is, don't go red. Definitely not something to do to a DD though.

I'd stick with the black, it looks good. The polished calipers look spectacular, great job!

I would never have the patience to polish my calipers, car gets driven too much to bother putting in the effort.

You cant polish the brackets, well i mean you can but it wont do much good, they will just rust. there not aluminium like the calipers. i pretty much polished my brackets b4 i painted them just to give the paint that nice smooth look, but i only went to like 220 grit on the brackets

So have you done anything to them to try and protect that awesome polish job? Wonder if you could just use the clear coat that VHT makes or if it would make it look yellowed.

not to get off topic or anything but when you pulled the calipers off what did you use to block the lines so fluid didnt' leak? i really wana redo mine but want to take the calipers off and don't have any ideas on how to block the lines
