Default 1996 Firebird Dash Pad Work in a 1997 Trans Am?

I need to replace my Dash Pad. I read somewere that one out of a 1996 Firebird will work in a 1997 Trans Am. I have someone who wants to sell me theirs for 80$ They live 80miles away and I dont feel like driving down for a test fit. I know the dash pad out of my 95 V6 does not fit so I was just curious. Thanks Guys

Just looking at our 96 compared to our 02 they look the same except for where the security light is. So if a 96 and a 02 are the same a 96 and 97 should be. But thats just eyeballing it....what part of the 95 wont fit???

Also is the guy parting out a 96? If so see if you can get that little piece of rubber that fits in the cubby hole right infront of the console lid on the console our is missing!

I'm pretty sure 96+ had the same SHAPE dash, meaning it will fit.

Dash pad is the only thing he has, He picked it up and before he could get it installed he totaled the car

The 95 Firebird Dash pad I have has a sharper angle near the top vent its not rounded like mine. Never mind I found out they wont work. What the **** is up with them Discontinuing the pad on the newer cars but not the older

Yeah. Are 96 dashes not the same? I know 97-02 dashes are identical aside from the color.

I dont think they will fit, from what I understand 93-96 and 97-02 are interchangeable.

1996 http://s3.hubimg.com/u/2605666_f496.jpg
1997 http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/imag...ashCover2R.jpg

And if the 95 pad wont fit thats a dead give away b/c 95-96 cars were identical regardless if they were v6 or v8 cars as far as the dash and interior panels are concerned
