Default ASCD SS Hood

I have been wanting to buy the SS Hood but I dont want to pay $700 or $800 for a hood that has fittment problems. Does anyone know how good the fittment is on the ASCD SS Hood. Thats the only hood I have seen that looks like the OEM SS Hood. Any comments are welcomed.

From aftermarket companies the ASCD SS hood seems to fit the best. I'm sure it will still need adjustments but not as much compared to other companies. Your best bet though is looking for a used OEM SS Hood. It will fit perfect. ASCD hoods cost 600-700 I thought plus you have to paint it... I've seen OEM ones go for 500-800.

I have the ASCD SS hood, no filament issues we did have to do some minor adjustments of the hinges (you will need to do this with the OEM SS hood) your best bet is to get your hands on an OEM hood if not ASCD IMHO is the next best thing. I have had mine on my Z for 2 years now no issues.

I paid $300 to have my hood and SS spoiler painted no extra work needed to fix issues.

Here is a pic to see more pics go to my site www.01pewterz28.cz28.com

Were did you buy the hood from I would really like to know. Did you use the stock shocks for the hood or aftermarket ones. I know that the OEM hood and the Aftermarket hood is a weight difference some say the stock shocks lifts the hood too fast because the aftermarket hoods are lighter. So they have to get aftermarket shocks.

My brother got the ASCD cowl hood which had no fitment issues not sure on the ss hood but I'm sure all the hoods from ASCD fit pretty decent.

What kind of adjustments have to made to the SS Hood to fit correctly if adjustments are needed. Also what kind of adjustments were made to the hinges.

I had to open the holes on the hinges a bit also slide them forward I had to raise the passenger front quarter panel a little. All in all about 1 hour of messing around for a perfect fit as you can see from the pics.

I bought the ASCD Hood from a non-sponsor, for the price I paid, I don't think that it's worth it. On the bottom side of the hood, it was bare fiberglass. I thought the workmanship is very poor for the price I paid. If it was you, I would pick up OE Hood in the sale forum. Nice hood for the same price. my .02
