Default Fuel Rail Cover Questions

I swapped a 5.3 into my v6 camaro a while ago, and have since cammed it and put an ls6 intake on it. Since I have the truck coil packs and the ls6 intake, can I use FRCs?

Whats the difference between the black and red ones?

Why do some have 2 cuts in them and others only 1?

I dont know about the first question...but I would think so.

The red ones are from a Z06 and the black ones from a regular LS1 Vette.

The ones with 2 holes are for cars with a return fuel line and the ones with 1 hole does not have a return line. Most F-bodies (unless modified) will need the ones with 2 holes.

Well im running a returnless non evap fuel system, so I guess that means I need the ones with one cut in them.

Is there any difference other than color between the regular and z06 covers?

no difference other than the color and the one verses two holes......and just to add i put them on my 2002 ls1 which has the two lines...i got the z06 red ones with only one hole and just ran a new return line (made it longer) and put both lines in the one hole...worked great!!!!

I read this all the time. Our cars do not have a return line at the fuel rail. If you look, that line goes to the intake manifold. That is the evap purge valve if I remember correctly. 97-98 Corvettes had actual fuel return lines. Google an image of a 97-98 corvette engine. You'll see two braided lines going under there. Just my $.02.

you are correct....the line runs up to a small plastic evap piece then into the TB or intake i cant remember....i just wasnt going to get into all that, i was just stating that i had two lines, and still used the FR cover that had one by extending the length of the front line......

sorry for the off topic discussion...........lol

No problem. Sorry. Didn't mean to be a smartass. Just wanted to say it right.
