Default GTO covers don't fit?

I thought I had checked the fit thoroughly, then modded a set of LS1 GTO fuel rail covers to fit the SS, but when I went to install them - the pins don't line up? Has anyone encountered and solved this problem (aside from getting GTO valve covers too)?

I ordered LS1 covers so they should have been, but I suppose anything is possible. I'll check for receipts tonight to confirm what model cover they are.

Would you happen to have the part number for the LS1 covers?

no dont sorry. it is easy to notice though. the ls1 covers have metal clips on the bottom wher they connect to the coil pack brackets where the ls2 versions have robber grommets for the ls2 style valve covers with the posts.

These have the metal clips just like my old corvette covers but they don't line up - just about 1/2" off?

No, when I line the clips up beside my old C4 covers they are off by about 1/2 inch.

Thumbs up

FWIW, on my LS1 frc's the two clips clip on the fuel rail but like he said some of my pins line up but I really don't even bother trying to snap them all in, when I do the covers seem distorted...not that it really matters their not going anywhere.

Yeah, I can't imagine why they would be off. I'll post pics later.

I got them from GM for an '04 GTO figuring the LS1 covers would fit and LS1, so I can't really return them now that they are modified. I would like to get the part number from someone who has covers that fit.

Here's the picture of my old corvette covers positioned over the GTO covers - you can see that the clips are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch off.

I wouldn't worry about it unless they are making the covers look distorted or something like that.
Once the covers are snapped on to the fuel rail tubing, they aren't going anywhere.
If they don't sit right & it bothers ya, simply cut the clips & their towers off completely. Snap'em onto the tube & let them rest in place.

Yeah, I think I may wind up doing that, or at least with just one clip. Thanks for the feedback.
