I have a 96 camaro and am converting to a 2002 dash, 97 cluster. Do I need a 97 dash wiring harness or will the 96 work? Also is Im going to an LS motor why cant I just get a 98+ harness and **** can the LT1 stuff entirely? Thanks

from what i understand is that to put the ls1 dash in an lt1 car, you would have to have the body wiring harness thats inside the car and all other wiring such as the dash and the motor harness. I didn't have a doner car so when i did my conversion i sent my ls1 motor wiring harness off to get it re-pinned for a lt1 dash, cost like 500 or so, Im not good at wiring so i sent it off and paid the money. I think that the harness from 96-97 is different ccuz the 97 cluster is digital like the ls1's but im not sure. good luck with your build

I have a body harness from a 2000 LS1 car for $100 shipped....can get pics if needed.

I would take it if I could confirm it will work in my car. Nobody seems to have done this. They just use a 97 LT1 gauge cluster and rewire the factory harness. Do you know if this is possible with the LS1 harness?
