Tint guys come in. Last minute input before I get them done tomorrow!
So here is where I stand for my appointment tomorrow.
5% on the back and 20% on the sides. I do drive at night with the windows up, and would like to see things. I hear 5 all around becomes too much.
Pretty set on the 5 for the back, but open to ideas. Im wondering if I should go lighter on the sides.

5% in the back is perfect. that alone makes a huge difference of ho much light gets in. but i do agree that 5% all arond is way too much. i loved how it looked but i could not see **** at night. i even cut i turn to hard and caught a kirb with my back tire. so i took it off the side windows. im gonna get them done again as well but not sure what percent. make sure u post pics of your final decision

Part of the reason for this is to protect my amp and subs. Thats why I plan on doing 5 for the back. 20 on the sides should keep it decently dark during the day.
Anyone have pics of 5% back 20% sides?

you'll like it. thats like what i have.
really, the only issue with dark tints (other than the chance of tickets), is when you need to reverse... thats when you'll need windows that work, because you'll have to roll them down to actually see behind you or look in the mirrors

^^I used to have that exact setup and like others have mentioned, the 5% in the rear makes it more difficult to back up, especially in the rain. I find myself rolling down my window to back up in certain situations. 20% on the sides was perfect for me until started getting tint tickets... its a nice setup if you're not too concerned with cops

5% all around
I'm not going to lie, it can be overwhelming the first time you get in your car at night and try to reverse, but you get used to it. I can see out the back of my hatch pretty well now.

5% all around is what I Had til I got popped. 290 dollars later it's off and I'm probably just going to put 20% on te sides. The back glass can be as dark as you like. I prefer 5%. I love it. The cop said if the windows would have been above 10% then he would have let me go. The guy I go to doesn't have 15% so I'm going with 20% as soon as I can dish out the cash.

I have 5% rear and tops and 35% sides. I wish I would have gone darker on the sides but I love the back. I roll down my windows when I back up occasionally as well but as far as looking in the rear window, I don't ever do that. There's not much to see out of...
