Default 1998-2002 Firebird models SHAVED License Plate Covers

My friend Lee shaved his bird himself (lol, "shaved his bird", northerners will get it...) but no matter how good of a job you do the work always shows through.

SO, he asked me to mold his piece and make him one out of flexible fiberglass so I did...

Since we have a mold, I figured we might as well offer it as a product

It is 100% MADE IN THE USA (hence the price, quality costs more) and I think makes for a much cleaner front end AND would also be a great place to add some cool emblem (maybe even a LIT emblem) from Matt and Roger at Emblembros (maybe a Pontiac Arrow head that lights up?)...

Anyways, here's some more pics and the ordering page, enjoy...

Damn that's pretty steep for that piece. I like it but a little out of my price range.

^^Go local and try to get a part made for less. I actually had NO intention of getting this made. Lee brought it to me for pricing, I brought it to the guy for PRICING and next thing I know I had a bill for a $300 mold and a $175 piece.

I would have flat out said "no thanks" but there was a miscommunication so I paid and can offer the part but could care less if it sells as after shipping and paypal it is a wash.

Yeah I'm kind of with you guys on this. You can pick-up a clear front stock style LC plate for $50 and Painted for $75. This is a great idea but price is way off. Now if you could get this made overseas and sell it for $75 then I would bet you would sell a lot of them.

Just my 2cents. I still have much love for 6LE

That's what Lee thought. Stock piece is urethane, not easy to shave and have the work not show over time...

Again, I am not pushing this item whatsoever. If you (speaking in generalities, NOT directed at you chaman) want it, I can get it for you if not who cares

Maybe I don't get it, but... Why would you want a shaved cover in the first place??

The Bird looks BadAss, especially with an accent color overlayed on top of it. Don't understand why anyone would want to do away with it, but that's just me I guess

I asked Lee the same thing... I personally really like the clear ones that people paint so the Bird lights up.

Lee said it is because there is no other Bird on the entire car and kind of makes the car look dated with the old "Firechicken".

His idea was to shave it to just look clean and then if it was boring looking over time he had thought of having emblem pros making up either a Pontiac Arrowhead that lit up to go there or a custom emblem (he has an LS1 swap, car was a V6) that lit up...

Well i havent talked to him at all about it, but im more than willing. I think this color needs a ceta.

Only issue I forsee is that my engines only half in the car now, and itll be a couple weeks still before its up and running.

As far as this piece goes, i persoanlly prefer !emblems as much as possible; along with !firechicken, ill be shaving the 'pontiac' on the headlight. Leaving my etched/stainless inserts in back and having some made for my shaker and thats it

You guys the stock bird emblem cover is not fiberglass, its plastic! Its Urethane! You can't just shave it like anything else! You have to go buy a plastic repair kit which includes a gun and a mixing tip etc etc literally materials alone you WILL spend $150, and thats if you get it at cost.
