Default Anyone running a 335-19 Tire in the rear?

Anyone out there running this tire size in the rear? Or even the 345-19?

I've ran a 335/30/18 and a 335/35/17 on my car. I currently have 335/35/17 on the car. It takes a little massaging and in my case even a little trimming of the inner fender in order to get a tire and wheel combination that sits inside the fender. I would stick with a 315 or 325 personally unless you are willing to do a considerable amount of work.

Eric, I had an MXX3 michelin 325/35/18 before they discontinued it about 1.5 years ago <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

335s are up next though!

Thanks Louis and The Derek H.

When I order the new rear wheels for my car, I was thinking of doing a 19x11 or even a 19x12 for the rear. I dont mind trimming, beating, or whatever alse is needed in the rear to get it to fit, but I dont want it to rub when Im done. How does your 335 fit? You dont happen to have any pics do you?

Louis, how about your 325, any problems?

Thanks!

I am squeezing the new 345x19 Michelin (sp) rear tire with the tall sidewall. the only way it will squeeze in there is to flare out the fenders though, due to the higher tire height. I have seen the regular low sidewall 335's fit as easy as a 315, the outer wheel well just needs to be rolled.

Blue Meanie,

You dont happen to have any pics do you? What series tire are you running? As far as the low sidewall, do you mean 335-25? OR 335-30's, etc?

Guys...there is NO WAY a 345 is goin under there without some serious work (mini-tub)...especially on a 19" rim! Just not enough room. Take a look at the NEW viper and ask yourself how your fittn'that rear wheel and tire under your F-body. I'd love to see it, but way too much work. Stick with a 10.5 or 11" rim with a 295 or 315 IF you don't want the hassle.

Off topic...
What is the largest 18 or 19 tire you can fit on the front?

I have heard of the 285/35/18 in the front no problems... Is that it?
How would rim size affect? What is the widest 18-19 rim in front?

I ask because I want the widest tire combo possible under the car without major mods or sticking out, and I want the same size on all 4 corners.
TIA
Dave

Without flares or minitubs, you are right, there is NO WAY they will fit, and its more of an issue of the height of the tire, not the width, I have seen plenty of 335x18 equipped F-bodies. The new 345 tire is more than an inch taller. However, the low sidewall 19" 335 shouldn't be much more of an issue that an 17" or 18" 335 tire, which means they should fit by rolling the quarter and some work wth a hammer. I don't like the look of anything past 18" typically because of the low sidewall height. Thats why I love that new 345, meaty!

I don't have any good pictures but my axles are shortened 3.5" on each side. 7" total. So my wheels sit significantly farther in the fender than most of you guys. Basically all I did was trimmed the bump stops off completely. Shaved the inner fender down smooth, welded s piece to fill in the part above the bump stop, resmoothed the inner fender and then had the undercoating redone. It looks great. The same thing could be done without the shorter rearend and more backspacing on the wheel. I wanted more negative offset and a deeper wheel is why I decided to shorten both axles on my 9".

Thanks

Louis, or anyone else, What width rim should I be looking at for a 335? I was thinking 11.5". I think Im going to go with the 18's again, and try to do the 335-35 in the rear and a 275-40 in the front, maybe a 295-35 front.

11.5-12"

I have had a 285 on the front, but not a 295.
