Default Bolts for cowl hood

I heard for the glass tek 4 inch cowl hood that the stock hood bolts cant be used to put it on. So i was wondering what bolt sizes that are used for this. Any info on the bolts would be great.

VFN 4" cowl comes with bolts.

And they are standard size not metric.

Yeah already got the glass tek one though. Standrad bolts thats not good. You have a whole car full of metric bolts but then you have to dig for some standard tools for the hood. I honestly looked in to just getting a metric tool set awhile back but need standard tools for friends cars so i just got them all.

Dan, the Glasstek hood probably uses standard bolts too, maybe you should call them, they are in Naperville. If you try to use a metric bolt the heads will probably snap right off as you try to tighten them.

I bought the hood from silverghost and he said the bolts wouldnt work. Hopefully this week i will have the time to just take off the stock hood and see if the bolts fit and then if they dont run to NAPA for some. Gotta wait till i can get some extra man power to lift it.

I've had mine on my 2001 Z28 and on my 2002 when I traded the 01 in and they both have used the stock ones just fine for about 6 months now. I had the Chevrolet body shop put it on when I traded it in and since it was the same color car they let me keep it for free and they said that they used the same ones so...
