Default '10 Blue SS Camaro - Complete Swirl Correction

I had this posted in the Texas section but figured some of you guys might like to check it out as well...

Process involved:

Wheels were cleaned with Showroom FX's Wheel Cleaner and Various Brushes
Car was washed with with Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash and Gloss through an Autogeek Foam Gun
Claymagic Claybar was used to remove the contaminants from the paint before polishing
The car was compounded with Meguiar's M105 via Flex and Orange pad at speed 6
The car was then finished off with Meguiar's M205 via Flex and Green pad at speed 5
Everything was sealed using Showroom FX Blazin Maize sealant on Black pad at speed 3
The car received the final wipedown with Showroom FX's Detail Mist with Showroom FX Gray Plush Microfibers
The wheels and exhaust tips were lightly cleaned/polished/sealed with Chemical Guy's Metal Polish
The Wheels/Trim/Rear Valance/Front Grill were dressed with Chemical Guy's VRP Dressing and I used the Showroom FX 4" applicator puck for the tires. It's easily the best tire applicator I have used.
The Wheel Wells were treated with Chemical Guy's Bare Bones spray

The entire interior was wiped down and vacuumed as well to clean it up.

So here are some pictures. I got NEAR perfection out of it from the M105 and M205 combo....

This picture was to show the wheel wells

This picture was to show the hard water spotting, rather than the swirls.

It was cloudy at this point so I was just using my swirlfinder to get them out.

Sun decided to come out for us, so we backed it out for some pictures

Taped it up prior to polishing

The sun started to really cooperate at this point

This was the door

So you get the picture...the car was a swirly mess.

I hit it hard with M105 and then worked M205 for a while to finesse it, and it came out great, made the flake pop, and literally made the entire car look a shade darker. It was awesome.

I only polished the outside of the exhaust. Inside polishing is a different deal all together.

This is a reflection shot in bright 2pm sunlight...none of this "in the shade" reflection bs

Cleaned and dressed the entire grill with Chemical Guys VRP dressing

I LOVE Bare Bones for quick wheel well dressing

How the hell did that car already look so bad?

I've owned my car two years, and havent waxed it, and it doesnt look nearly that bad.

And it looks AWESOME when it's finished. Nice work

Thanks

It came that way due to an automatic wash that it was run through, probably at the dealer when it was "prepped" before pickup.

Pewter is fantastic at hiding swirls, so you picked a good color Black and Blues are the absolute worst. Like I tell everyone. MOST cars that are purchased are already covered in swirls and imbedded contamination and need to be claybarred and polished right off the dealer lot.

Great work. Nice car as well

Those stripes are nice, BUT they remind too much of a mustang going across the roof and all the way down the rear bumper.

looks great man good work! Its a shame people/dealerships dont know how to take care of a car let alone know better to run it through a car wash. people these days, i love driving in rich parts of town and going past car washes and seeing all the black and dark cars in line to get there paint swirled! anyways good work looks great dad has the same color truck beautiful color!

That is definately true. I had a friend that worked in the body shop at a dealership that sold BMW's, Porsche's and Mercedes', and I honestly could not believe how much contaminants and swirling there was on those cars right off the delivery truck.

Your car looks pretty sick though. I wish my swirls were that light... Previous owner wasn't so nice to the car.

nice work and i understand about the paint changing color.
the paint on my car was nice when i got it and i used to detail it by hand then i got a pc and once i learned how to use it it made a huge difference.

my car is crm and after a orange 4in pad and some megs ultimate compound(consumer version of 105) it seemed to look more orange like som which most people think my car is.

that car looks alot better now but like what others said you would think that a car that cost that much at a dealership would have been better taken care of
