Default 68 Pro Street Camaro - full wetsand (very pic heavy)

The owner of this beast contacted me back when he picked this up and we kept in contact about the car while it was in the body shop for the next several months. When it was all done and ready for wetsanding, it was dropped off to me for a few weeks.

The process for this car was pretty straightforward... Washed, clayed, wetsanded with 1500 and then 3000, compounding with M105 and wool pad and refined down with polishing on my rotary with multiple steps and numerous polish and pad combinations. Finished down with Menzerna PO85RD for a brilliant gloss. The car was then sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond for a super deep look and ultra slick surface while still giving it months of protection.

Total time invested was approx 45 hours.

For you gearheads, here's what it's got

468 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy
200-4R Automatic with overdrive, lockup and a 3500 stall
Narrowed 9" rear with locker and 3:73 gears
Wilwood disc brakes on all 4 corners
Weld Prostars with 31x18.50 Mickey Thompson Sportsmans
Autometer gauges
Power windows
Brand new painless wiring harness and weather stripping

Body mods:
Front upper and lower fenders molded together
Shaved marker lights
Stretched quarters 1 1/2"

Bear with me as the pics are from multiple cameras. Owners point and shoot for original pics, my D40 for some of the beginning pics, a friend's Olympus DSLR when my D40 died, a few off my HTC EVO phone, then my finished pics with the new D90, then last pics taken by the owner with his new camera. Needless to say it took a while to organize all the files...

Here it is when the owner purchased it

New Glasstek 6" cowl hood

In the booth....

New moldings

From this point it was shipped off to me for the wetsand and detail.

Starting the taping process. Every body edge was protected. A LOT of 3M blue painters tape and 3M 1/4" Fine Line tape.

You can see the heavy orangepeel.

Finished with the 3000 grit....

Wheels....

This is how black should look

After it was all done the owner took it home and put the lights, grill, and bumpers on. Also he lowered it and swapped on a set a Prostars for a MUCH better look! Here are the pics he took...

Thank you if you made it this far! Hope you enjoyed it!

Awesome work on an awesome car! Little question for you, between different compounds do you simple wipe what is left of the compound off with a microfiber towel? This is my biggest ? since I've been buffing my own car.
