Default Product Review : RKSport SS ("Competition") Style Hood

Just got back from the body shop and am pretty pleased with the RKSport SS replica hood. I was disappointed with my ASCD hood on my old Z28 (it required a few hours of blocking/sanding ($$$$$$$) and still was not perfect). Here's my review and a few pics:

Product: RKSport 98-02 SS Style / Competition Hood
Company: RKSport
Cost : $595 + $175 Shipping + Tax = $715.00
Date Ordered: 1/12/04
Date Shipped: 1/16/04
Date Received: 1/20/04

Condition of hood: Smooth, no scratches or waves whatsoever
Fitment: For the most part good (see pics below) - the shop is going to have to sand the upper corner a tiny bit, and the driver side has a slightly bigger gap than passenger, but the front is perfect and that is where it matters most IMO.
Other Info: Hood uses stock equipment to fasten. Did not come with grill insert! Anyone know where to pick one up?

Here are some pics from the shop - will have more on my site (see sig) in about a week when it is on!!! Hope this is helpful to anyone considering buying a hood, I know I was nervous after my ASCD hood on my 97...

Damm must be nice to have a SS Hood it looks very nice. Keep the pics comming I have been saving for a SS Hood but could not decide what brand because of the fittment problems most SS Hoods have. Looks and sounds like the RkSport SS Hood is pretty good. Is the hood functional or not.

I was pretty pleased with the RK sport SS hood that I used to have on my previous Z28. I now have the GM version, but the RKsport hood measured up fairly well.
