Default What you can do with your oil catch can.

I like to think of it as a oil catch tank but everyone knows them as a can, anyways back to the topic. I've been reading all the post of Todd2001SS and his polishing craziness , I took Todd's advise and I bought a Craftsman bench polisher ( 1 hp instead of the 1.5 hp like Todd has ) and completed my first polishing mod today.

I had Justin Sutton make one of his stainless steel oil tanks for my non f-body car, the tank is a lot like what he makes for the f-body cars but with a few small changes.

After some sanding and polishing it looked like this, thanks Todd for the help.

WOW looks great! What a nice reflection. Glad I could help.

Looks like another strain of the disease.

I am telling you, you will not be able to stop polishing. It will be one part after another.

Trust me, I know. It is very rewarding and fun.

Looks really good Al!! I see what you're going to be doing for the rest of the winter! If you run out of things, just let me know, I'll bring some over for you to work on!

Todd, you should be the poster child for Eastwood! I wen crazy and bought a TON of polishing material and equipment, just to try to keep up! It's not fair, I tell you! Between that and the powder coating system my wife is getting me for Christmas, I'm going to have to quit my job! See what you did? My kids are going to starve and we'll be homeless, all because of you!

Merry Christmas!

Thanks guys for the compliments, it was fun taking the plain stainless steel tank to this level.

Todd, my wife will have me recommited to the mental ward if I go too far , you can take this to the bank " I won't even come close to what you've done ".

Ted, you know you're welcome to come over anytime, I hope all's going well for you.

Later,
Al

Hey Joe, Thanks ( I think ) , I had a Cusco PCV oil catch can on the Prowler first but I wanted something a little different so I had Justin make me one up. I really only installed the Cusco oil can for looks, when I removed the Cusco can I noticed a small amount oil in it. All engines produce oil vapors that go thru the PCV valve even the weak Prowler engine.

The PCV oil catch tank won't stop the amount of oil blow-by but it will keep a large amount from getting into the TB. When the oil vapors get to the tank the oil will drop to the bottom ( or at least most of it ), the return hose will draw clean air into the intake manifold.

e-mail me your phone number Joe and I'll give you some more info.

Later,
Al
P.S. I've been keeping the battery charged on the flashlight.
