Default making old engine look good

I recently got an old 350 engine just to take apart and see whats goin on with the engine since im still learning. some things are rusted but, the bolts still come out fine and all, I want to know how I can make the whole thing look nice, cleaning parts, and trying to paint some things. I was wondering how I should go about doing this. any help is appreciated.

You can sand off the rust but it'll just come back over time.

Making a F-Body motor look nice is hard since there isn't any useless plastic you can hide all of the metal and hoses under and just spray a plastic protectant on.
