Default Should a LT1 WS6 hood and air box cost this much

I have a chance to buy a factory LT1 WS6 and air box for $1000. Is this a reasonable price?

If its genuine then its not a horrible price but it's a touch on the high side. Everything better be perfect though.

I paid $307.xx for my oem WS6 hood with a ~ 300 mi round trip pickup and $115 shipped for my airbox w/ K&N and MAF to TB bellow. this was in 2008 before those parts prices went through the roof so your prices may very.

probably. the box alone is worth $200+ on ebay and i saw one with a bellow and MAF go for $382. There was one on there just yesterday with a $197.xx bid with ~ 1 day left and that didn't include the bellow or MAF.

Unless you need or want an oem for some reason, I'd just get an aftermarket one from suncoast creations. It works the same for aroun $350 new.

That's an absolutely rediculous price to pay for that...people act like those damn air boxes are made of gold

Thanks for the replies, I don't know if i really want to pay the money for it. The reason i want OEM is because of the better fit. Is Suncoast known for a OEM like fitment?

I asked the seller via email what all came with the air box and this was his reply.

"it will include the air box top and bottom, intake bellow, and MAF wire extension."

If i had to piece it all seperately im sure it would all add up fast. Im havng a hard time talking myself out of it, i don't want to spend a grand on a hood and box but the price is close to the market value for everything. So i guess i should either buy this set up or look for another hood/CAI set up.

FWIW that intake bellow is $150+ by itself at the dealer (now discontinued) and kind of hard to come by.

ebay is the LAST place you want to be looking for WS6 airboxes. I have contemplated grabbing any random LT1 WS6 airbox i can find on craiglist or any fbody board for <$150 and throwing it up there because the vultures will pay dearly on ebay for those things. like i said, $250 is not uncommon just for the airbox itself with the airbox, maf, and maf-tb bellow fetching over $350.

Your right I guess they can get pricey on there. However you can snag a deal on occasion. That seems like a good investment idea though (buying em cheap and throwing em on ebay)
