Default What color caliper paint

So i just ordering black and red caliper not knowing how i want to do them yet. I have a 99 Trans am Midnight blue. All of my suspension parts under the car are red from bmr like subframe connectors and torsion bar, and lower control arms. And the rearend is a moser 12 bolt that is red. So on the calipers i'm not sure if i want to do just red or just black. Or do the caliper red and the caliper bracket black. I need some input thanks.

Polished. I like mine polished much better. It blends with the brake rotors and wheels better. There is a write up if you search it.

Paint it the same color as the body of the car if you like your car to look clean, red with black brackets if you like the XTREME RACER look, or polish it if you have a ton of time and like your car looking clean.

He brought those with him. Since he is/was a member here maybe Brent?? Might have also been Ebay. It's been a few years. I would think any of the guys here that do the decals could do them. They were just reduced to a smaller size.

red doesnt go with blue. black would look better imo. if you want it to look realy clean, do something like color match it to your car.

check out duplicolor metalcast paint. it can be used on calipers and comes in really cool colors.

but you can get a good engine paint that should match your car and that would look the best imo.

i really would stay clear from red, just clashes with the blue. you would be better off doing a complimenting color if you want something bold, like yellow.

Ya now i'm thinking black calipers with red bracket, I want to do just a little red because you can see the red subframe connectors. I still like the way it looks with red calipers and black brackets though too

I decided on this when my I get my new full chrome rims.

Chrome plate the brackets and paint the calipers red.

I;m just gonna buy new (used) brackets and send them to the chromers, when they're done I can just put them on with no down time.

I might even full chrome the calipers too. A place here does them for $90.00 each.

did you clear them after to preserve all of that work, or do you just polish them up every so often?

In my opinion...its WAY WAY not worth polishing our calipers. It took forever and it doesn't last. Here's one of mine after hours of work. Never again. Its way too easy to have it chrome plated.

They have no issues with heat when they're chromed....myth.....

I mean there is no point in ever polishing polished aluminium rims then either right..... it doesn't last. They are just like anything else that is polished aluminium you have to stay on them.... I do understand some of what you are saying, but you still have to pretty much polish the calipers prior to chrome plating otherwise its not going to be a nice mirror like chrome finish. I'd consider chrome plating, but my car is payed off in about 10 months (so ill have all kinds of extra cash to spend on the car) and i have C6 ZO6 or CTS-V brakes i'm planing on in about a year. Along with the rims to fit over the those massive 6 piston beasts.
