Default opinions on this custom paint job.....

I've been looking for either an E55 AMG or an E63 AMG.

This thing has one of those Lamborghini flat black paint jobs, tell me what you all think of it.

I may just buy this one.

Opinions on the body trim and custom Mercedes emblems too.......curious if you all like or dislike it.

and most likely I'm putting these rims on it.....

it's pretty hard not to like a E55 mercedes. its a bad *** car.
I like the matte paint, but it really is your preference and $.
Looks like a great car

the matte with the black wheels is too much.. with the wheels you plan on doing I think it'll look good. Some tint on the headlights wouldn't hurt either.. they just show up too much!

x2

Too much blacked out with the wheels, but throw on some like you posted in your second link and that thing will be sick!!!

I don't price Mercedes very often but that's pretty good for an AMG car isn't it?

not a fan of the flat black paint, I would think it would be a pain to keep clean. nice car otherwise

I agree, the matte black paint looks really good but I honestly would put the badges back on it, it needs something to break it up and also agree, change the wheels... sharp car and pretty decent price.

Car looks awesome, but 23k for a manufacture buyback car with a salvage title? No thanks, not worth the money saved to me.

ninja edit: i thought 22k was a damn steal, but its salvged. if you dont mind a salvaged car then go for it, but you can get an 05-06 c6 with low miles for like 2 or 3k more...

Well, considering I have a parts list of items for about $8,500 waiting to buy:
180mm ASP Pulley
SLR cams
OEM Mercedes 82mm Throttle body
Custom intake
Custom ECU tune
SuperSprint Longflow Headers
Race Cats
H pipe
Colder NGK plugs
Ron Davis Intercooler, Johnson CM90

and have installed at the local Mercedes dealership by a very experienced tech that specializes in the SC'ed Mercedes cars.....if I go with an E55 that is......that will bring the HP for the E55 to about 700 RWHP, possibly 750 RWHP.
I'd much rather tool around in a Mercedes luxury car that will spank the hell out of any 05-06 Z06 or any C6 Z06 427ci. for that matter. I took a ride in an E55 that had about 650 RWHP.....insane is the only word to describe it. They friggin hook from a dig too, its sick.

I already have a badass American-made car, which is gonna be MUCH badder with my new 441ci + 250 shot going in soon.....I've been wanting an actual serious quality foreign-made car for once that I can drive without sounding like the world is coming to an end. My Trans Am is way too damn loud and a little obnoxious sometimes. Not great for going out in on a date or just a casual drive somewhere. So my Trans Am is gonna be a weekend warrior, the Mercedes take over as my daily driver. My Trans Am has treated me well for my daily driver for 13 straight years. I just gave it an awesome new paint job, its getting a new stroker engine and its gonna sit in my garage till the weekends.

Yes, definitely have to change the rims to the chrome ones.

No doubt, beautiful car. Its basically the same thing as the E55. But there's really nothing much that can be done to mod them....about 555 HP is all you can get.

If you get the new E63 rims and the little spoiler addition for the trunk on the E55........you basically get an E63 but with 700+ RWHP.

And the 2007 E63 with the 517 HP costs in the $45,000 range for a low mileage nice car.

this needs to happen. those wheels are sick too (separate link, blacked out stockers never did it for me).

at first i thought itd be one of the matte silver cars and ive heard horror stories about the maintenance on those... but this on the other hand..

this needs to be purchased and have a thread made asap. first the comparo for us rattlebox (fbody) guys, then a build thread

that seems like an awesome deal too.. salvage title doesnt bother you?

also, why do the e55s have so much more potential than the e63s?

i always had srt6 crossfires as a 'guilty pleasure' type of crush; just cause i know its an slk 32 amg in granny clothing.. that was the first time i found the mercs to be modable

I saw this very car on ebay the other night and said "holy sh*t"... that looks soo mean, but at the same time is one of the most comfortable cars to ride in.

i would love to have it if i had the cash..

Because the E55 is super-charged from the factory. They are easy to simply turn up the boost like most factory FI cars.....except the engine is already built to handle 700-750 RWHP worth of mods as is from the factory, and do that with total reliability. Alot of guys also have a 50 shot on top of that.
Its easy to add almost 100 HP with just a pulley change and intake.

The E63 is Normally Aspirated from the factory...so there's only bolt on type mods and tuning. They can be modded to have another 20-40 HP, thats about it. But it still makes for a badass 555 HP Luxury car....they pull like frieght trains when factory stock, they're silly.

I'm just now really learning about them. The 05-06 E55 is the only one to buy, the earlier ones had airmatic ride suspension issues. Quite costly.

Yea, a build thread on it would be cool to do.

I'd love to get this one but it probably won't last long. I would have to set up a inspection at a Mercedes dealership for a serious once over before I bought it. I really do want a normal black painted one, but this one is certainly unique. There's a new Lambo that a guy owns at the airport here painted with that flat black...its pretty cool because its so damn rare.

Salvage title doesn't bother me, as long as it functions and rides normally. I'm gonna be making this car custom for me....like I did my Trans Am, plan to keep it for awhile. Or until I can afford a better Mercedes, like a Mercedes "Black".............
