I feel ridiculous asking this, but are there not supposed to be lights in the recesses of the front bumper below the turn signals? My car came with some cheesy looking and poorly wired LEDs there, and I always assumed they had replaced some stock lights.

Missed this the first time. My 2002 Trans Am has nothing below the turn signals and I purchased it new so think you have someone's additional light installation.

Ok I'll do that as soon as I get a chance. I just hope that, if they're not stock, it's not too difficult to remove them.

Did I miss it or is it not in this thread?

What are the interior rear seat side light bulb numbers for a 2001 TA convertible?

Bulb list is wrong, dome light is 561 halogen/44mm rigid loop but map lights are 214-2 halogen/42mm festoon. What I get for trusting a post without removing the mirror and checking myself first, funny Sylvania was right though.

I got the 921's to replace the map lights in my 2002 Camaro, they ended up melting the covers and the housing before I caught it and removed them. I'm going to try replacing them with LED's now.

This is for the mirror lights correct? Because the 212-2 is not correct -_-

It should be 194 and not 921 for '01-02, they have the same base but the average 194 is about 4W and a 921 about 18W so that's why they melted the mirror.

On the mirror lights I went with 42mm festoon ended LEDs and mine is a '96 Formula. I originally had 44mm rigid loop LEDs for the dome light but I ended up taking two of the 42mm festoon LEDs I bought and removed the contact caps and soldered them in parallel and made some loop ends, that way I have one board towards the passenger compartment and one towards the cargo area so it does a good job of matching halogen's light coverage.

Yup so i.e. you're looking for a 194 just go to your favourite shopping place and search "194 LED *insert desired colour here*" Though LEDs are the proverbial minefield and researching thoroughly before buying pays dividends.

Yes. I forgot to mention that. Get the LED Color that matches the lens that it will be behind.

Does anyone have a DIRECT reference for the LED replacement for the license plate bulb. I followed the suggestion from Amazon and it did not fit. Luckily the bulbs fit in the glove box, so they did not go to waste.

I would very much like to replace the license plate bulb and the backup lights. I don't want to muck around with the brake/turn signal lamps in the rear. The DRL and front turn signals are another issue because of the heat generation.

Any tips? TIA.

The bulb that I found to fit well for the license plate is the sylvania 194 led bulb.

For the reverse lights I am using the XP80's from diode dynamics.

This is what I am using in my 02 SS.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the response. I tried another 194 replacement -- didn't fit. So I used those bulbs for the map lights. Fit fine.

I'll try to get and install the Sylvania. I got some 3057 replacements off Amazon and it's a great difference.

It's some difference now with all the interior lights and most of the exteriors replaced. The previous owner put an LED bar in the Ram Air nostrils. I don't like that they're white, so I'm going to try getting some amber plexi to mount in front of them.
