Default Lights out..

I have a 99 T/A and with it I have the annoying grinding/dump truck noise when the lights close. I know why this is caused etc etc. What I don't know is how the lights open. Yes, there is a switch on the dash to pop up the lights and then turn them on. But how much power is used, how is it wired, any relays or fuses? All information regarding the wiring of the light system would be appreciated. Also, how can I access the switch ad the wires from the dash? Thanks.

I'm not sure about all of you're wiring questions, but I do know that to gain access to the switch you have to take off the instrument cluster trim panel-it just pops off then I think the switch panel unscrews. And I know that people get that noise B/C of the crappy nylon gear in the headlight motor. Here is the link for the part to fix the problem:

Hope this helps.
