go watch somebody tint a f-body,

I woudl pay somebody to do the back window, as its complex curves.

The rest doors are easier, but you wont save mucn by paying somebody for the back, and doing the sides yourself.

Does anybody have a way to tint over the dot matrix on the back window?? I have talked to numerous tinting people and most say they can do it but it will leave a white residue on the matrix. Or other people have said they recommend tinting up to the matrix and stopping. Any suggestions??

You can tell the tint shop to lightly sand the matrix area first. Then apply the tint from the bottom and when they get to the matrix area, use a thicker adhesive, and lots of it. Then press out all the bubbles around the matrix carefully. The only downside is that the thick adhesive will cause a slight distortion in your view. However, in my seating position I can't even see the matrix so it's not a problem.

Another option is to tint up to the bottom half of the matrix, and then apply a dark vinyl over the rest of the matrix. Once again, depending on your seating postition this may or may not be a problem for you.

Btw, hope you've got a few hours to take that stuff off...

I work in the prep dept @ a Chevy dealer. had to take the tint off a Honda Civic. door windows, back "hatch" windows, and the rear window. Overall..took roughly 6 hours worth of work to fully remove everything. Removing the tint itself was easy, its the residue that sucks tryin to get off. Oh, and if you do it, wear a breathing mask <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
