1:18 Welly Diecast Z28 *NEW PICS ADDED!* :-)
I have been meaning to post these for a while, but here goes... It started out as the 35th Anniversary Edition SS that they make...
First I reshaped the rear spoiler, *Project De-SS-ify* begins...
<img src="http://www.pride.hofstra.edu/~SSCHAP1/diecast/1.JPG" alt=" - " />
Then, I got started with the dremel/files/screening from below/bondo, and now we have a Z28 hood <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
<img src="http://www.pride.hofstra.edu/~SSCHAP1/diecast/2.JPG" alt=" - " />
Then I repainted the whole thing...wetsanded and polished it...I snabbed some Z28 decals out of the 1/20 Lindberg '96 SS kit, and the rectangular Z28 exhaust tips and the 5-spoke ZR1 wheels came off of a Maisto '96 Corvette Collectors Edition.
Now we're done, kinda...I put the 5-spokers on for the pics, but I have since sent them out a few weeks ago to "ChromeTechUSA" to be plated...I should have them back in a week or so...
<img src="http://www.pride.hofstra.edu/~SSCHAP1/diecast/3.JPG" alt=" - " />
<img src="http://www.pride.hofstra.edu/~SSCHAP1/diecast/4.JPG" alt=" - " />
Just thought I'd share <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

That is sweet! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
I'm still waiting for my welly's SS to come in (it's on backorder <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> )
I can't wait to start modding it! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: 1:18 Welly Diecast Z28 *NEW PICS ADDED!* :-)
Thanks for the compliments!
I'll try to answer everyone at once now, lol...
I got the Welly Diecasts at my local Kay-Bee, but they're on ebay all the time. Or just do a google search for "Welly Camaro SS" and you should find a bunch, should be around $20...
As far as TA's go, Ertl made a '96 t-top TA in 1:18 scale, and I dunno who makes it but they make a pretty damn nice '99 WS6 convertible diecast...I've seen them in red, as the 20th Anniversary Edition, and as the *reversed* Anniversary Edition (blue, white stripes, white rims)
Any questions feel free to IM me, TransAm87WS6

Hey, I heard Welly Diecasts just put out a pewter '02 Z28 with Z06 wheels. kidding! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Than thing looks great. It would have been easier to buy real SS to match your Welly. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
