Default Detailing with vinyl stripes

Hey there. My Camaro's been in storage for most of the last few years. The paint is in need of attention... I took it to a detailer but he was concerned with my stripes possibly coming up with a buffer. Anyone with stripes had their cars detailed? Any issues to worry about?

Just be careful around the stripes. The safest way is to tape them up. That will keep the edges from pulling up and damaging the stripes with the buffer. What kind of stripes, how big, etc. Are any edges pulling up now?

OK, I'll make sure they tape them off. They're 35th anniversary stripes in good condition, nothing has come up in 6 years but like I said it's been in storage...

Any reason for it being in storage for so long? Just curious. But like they said, be real careful and befriend tape. If done right, it'll cover your ***, lol.

On my WS6 i would go over my Blackbird Stripes with my Porter Cable.. no worries.

My concern is the detailer.. do you know him personally? He should know to use painters tape. What's even more concerning; is he using a rotary? If it's just a detail shop somewhere near you, ask to see a car he just did.

Deployments, divorce, etc. I had to keep it in storage or out in the open which wasn't an option for me.
