Question What Color To Paint My Lid??

I've been kinda bored with then engine, the lid NEEDS to be painted.. Just don't know what color to paint it.. Also the only down fall is that my hood rub in the middle of it. So if I paint it, I'm obviously going to have a bald spot So how can I prevent the hood from rubing in this spot?

Anyways here is a sort of crappy pic of my engine right now as it sits

Let me know what you guys would paint the engine bay... And I'm also thinking of doing something with the STB... If you guys have any ideas, please share them too

Thanks

Umm.. for the lid.. red or gunmetal would look nice. I did both on my WS6. My favorite was.. the lid Bright Red (like the car) and I had a black/silver bird on it.
If you come to Chicago.... You can have my catch can.. Speaking of catch can... I might get it PC.. Thoughts????

I didn't like the gunmetal.. Did I ever show you pics when I did my valve colors gun metal, then i said fvck it one night at midnight, sanded them down and primed them. Then the next day painted them black??

I might do the red... What about my hood problem rubbing? any thoughts on my STB..

hey instead of stealing this guys thread post in mine.. Called What Color To Paint My Lid

I honestly think that a gloss black lid/deck and gloss black intake would look sick with all of the red surrounding it. It will draw your attention in toward the engine. The other thing that could look sick if you had the $$$ is have them hydro dipped in a Carbon Fiber pattern. As for the rubbing, you can probably adhere some foam to the back of the hood where it's contacting to prevent the 'balding'

Jonas I do remember that now that I think back haha. I'm about to run out so I only have a second, but I was thinking.. for the rubbing issue, what if you put a piece of velcro on the underside of the hood? That way when you close the hood the velcro touches the lid. As long as the velcro is soft it should be good I would think?

Use a piece of that black foam tape insulation ****. I don't know what the hell it's called but it's soft on the one side. Stick that on the top of the hood where the lid hits.

As for the paint... go with gloss black!!!

Gloss black. BTW, I had problems with my FTP 105mm clear lid hitting. The solution? Use a heat gun to soften the plastic just enough to mold it slightly lower.

Good good. Starting my new job soon so I'll be making the big bucks. Means more money for my car! My car is on hold, but the paint is done as you can see from my Sig. I don't know what to start next. I still need a full custom leather interior, rear end, new wheels/tires, air ride, and possibly a Procharger!

If I do gloss black, what paint should I use? The Krylon Fusion stuff for plastic?
